About the Journal

Ventos: Interdisciplinary Journal of Mobilities is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the study of mobilities in their multiple expressions. The journal investigates mobility not only as the movement of people, but also as a broader set of social, political, technological, material, and ecological processes that shape contemporary worlds.

The journal welcomes original research articles, theoretical contributions, review essays, and interdisciplinary approaches addressing different regimes of circulation, including voluntary and forced migrations, displacement and refuge, border control policies, bureaucratic and biometric infrastructures, logistical networks, financial circuits, digital flows, and the movement of non-human beings and materials.

Ventos is particularly interested in the tensions, frictions, and inequalities produced by systems of mobility and immobility. The journal explores how movements are enabled, regulated, interrupted, or transformed through human actions, institutions, technologies, infrastructures, and ecological dynamics. Contributions may address topics ranging from global supply chains and transportation networks to environmental transformations and the changing landscapes of the Anthropocene.

The journal brings together perspectives from the social sciences, humanities, and related fields, encouraging dialogue across disciplinary boundaries and promoting critical reflections on contemporary forms of circulation, connection, and displacement.
